Fall  2014 - 2015

Hello, and welcome to my Louis County High School web page.  I have been here at LCHS since the fall of 1997 and have enjoyed every minute I have been here.  I have taught a number of different subjects, but have been the computer aided drafting and design teacher for the last ten years.  This has been my best assignment yet.  As I say to my students, where else could I work and have this much fun?

I grew up in many different places in the United States, but ended up in El Paso, Texas.  I graduated from Coronado High School, home of the Thunderbirds and then went on to Arizona State University, which is now the largest university in the United States.  I graduated from ASU with a degree in Business Administration and had an exciting career in the business world.  In 1984, I had the opportunity to teach an evening course at Piedmont Virginia Community College which began my teaching career.  I would teach at the main campus in Charlottesville and at the region's sites, including Louisa County High School over the years.  In 1995, I left the business world and started teaching full time, making a couple of stops before ending up at Louisa County High School.  While I still teach at Piedmont Virginia Community and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Louisa County High School is my home.

This year, I will be teaching a number of different courses.  Fall has me teaching three sections of Basic Computer Aided Drafting and Design.  This is the introduction course to our mechanical/architectural drafting program.  In the spring, I will be teaching the advance classes: Engineering CADD, the Architectural CADD, and two sections of Personal Finance and Economics to the students of LCHS.  Personal Finance and Economics is a state mandated course for all students starting with the graduating class of 2015.

And oh yea, I drive the school bus route that goes right by my house, morning and afternoon, every day of school.

I look forward to another exciting and engaging year with my students at Louisa County High School! Title.
